MAINS

Our main course items are presented unaccompanied, allowing more flexibility for the customer's own taste and dietary requirements. We also stock a small range of 'sides' including cooked rice, potato mash and fresh salads. Our family size pies, bakes and lasagnes feed four adults.

We simmer our traditional Italian style beef and pork mince ragu with red wine and herbs for three hours before layering it between egg lasagne sheets, béchamel sauce & Parmesan cheese. Gluten free version by request.

MEALS DELIVERY
We use Urgent Tonight courier services who will deliver within the Auckland Metropolitan Delivery Area between 6 and 9 pm at night. Orders received before 2pm can be delivered the same day between the above times. There is no minimum order required, and a flat rate delivery fee of $12.50 applies to all orders under $200 (free delivery for orders $200 and over). We are also able to request other delivery times, but varied fees will apply.

CATERING
We specialise in providing meal solutions for small dinner parties and functions. Our meals, salads and desserts can also be made and presented in your own dinnerware. We also have a casual finger food menu, which can be sent by email on request.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
Our emphasis is on making great wholesome food, from scratch, without the long list of additives you find in supermarket and factory manufactured food. We do not count calories, or specialise in low sugar, low carb or low fat meals. However, we do have a good range of gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options as indicated on the menus.

 

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

PLEASE NOTE: Many of our pot pies, bakes and lasagnes etc are
presented in ‘ovenable paperboard containers’. These can be
heated in the oven, and are recyclable with your newspapers.

Pot Pies, Lasagnes and Bakes:
Defrost and bake in a preheated 180c (or 160c fanbake) for 35 – 45
minutes (family sizes will take a full 45 minutes or slightly longer). If
the top of your meal is getting too brown, cover with foil and continue
cooking on slightly lower heat. (Single serve pies take around 25-30
minutes). If you have to cook from frozen, allow another 15-20
minutes.

Hotpots, Meatballs, Casseroles, Curries:
Defrost and transfer the contents to a pan or pot. Heat gently on the
stove top on a low to medium heat, adding a little water to
compensate for evaporation as it warms up. Make sure the meal is
piping hot when served. Alternatively you can transfer to a casserole
or oven dish with lid, and reheat in a moderate oven for 35-40
minutes until hot. (These meals can be microwaved till hot, but this
method can overcook the dish, unless done with care)

Wraps, Picnic Pies, Tarts:
Defrost as above (wraps should be taken out of plastic and placed
on a tray lined with baking paper) and reheat in a 180c (160c
fanbake) oven, for around 20 to 30 minutes or until piping hot. If the
top is browning too much, cover with foil loosely. Wraps may take a
little less time, and they can also be heated/crisped in a Panini
machine.

Puddings/Crumbles (excluding chilled desserts):
Crumbles should be defrosted and cooked in a 180c -160c fan bake
oven for approx. 40 mins (small) to 1hr (med/large) until piping hot
and crispy on top. Sticky Date and other puds can be reheated in a
(170c -150c fan bake) oven until hot, approx 15 – 25 minutes
depending on size. Sauces can be microwaved for a short period of
time, or heated in a small pot.

NOTE ON DEFROSTING SAFELY:
The safest way is to defrost your meal slowly in the fridge overnight
or during the day. If you need to defrost your meal out of the fridge it
will take a shorter time. Just bear in mind that as soon as it is
defrosted (which will depend on the size of your meal and the room
temperature) it should be kept cool in the fridge until it is reheated.
